Too much text
A thumbnail is viewed small. A long sentence becomes texture, not a message.
A thumbnail needs to read at a small size, isolate the topic and still feel like part of the channel. I work on composition, hierarchy, typography, contrast and repeatable variants, not just one isolated image.
People do not read details in the feed. They first see colour, a face or object, a few words and the relationship between elements. The thumbnail needs to communicate before the title is consciously read.

When face, headline, logo, background and effects all compete, the eye has nowhere to land.
Without a repeatable system there is no visual recognition across the feed.
The portfolio section is ready. The existing YouTube example is included now; new work will be added as soon as the next thumbnail batch is supplied.
The gallery is already prepared.
Design can vary by topic, but a channel should have logic the audience starts to recognise.
We decide what the viewer needs to see in the first second.
HierarchyShort headline, large enough and with enough contrast for the feed.
TypeFace, object, background and headline follow a clear order.
CompositionRules that hold multiple videos together without copying the same thumbnail.
SeriesWhere useful, alternative executions of the same concept can be prepared.
VariantsFinal image in the correct ratio and resolution, optimised for YouTube.
DeliveryTo design a useful thumbnail I need to understand the video, audience and the reason someone would click that piece of content.
Send the topic, working title and key promise of the video.
I define what goes first and how much text is actually needed.
Thumbnail or a set of variants based on the agreed direction.
For ongoing work we build rules that make the next videos faster.
Nenad De LuxeFor more than 25 years I have worked across graphic design, web, catalogues, visual identities and digital systems. I do not separate appearance from function: every project needs a clear purpose and has to work in a real system.
I work directly, without layers of account management. You work with the person who plans, designs and understands the technical side of the delivery.
Pricing is set after I see the channel type, publishing frequency and whether you need one thumbnail or an ongoing system.
Short assessment of the visual direction of the channel.
Send video briefOne agreed concept and final execution.
Send video briefFor regular publishing and a repeatable visual system.
Send video briefNot necessarily. A working title, summary, key scene and photos or assets that need to appear may be enough.
Yes. Send original photos at the highest quality you have, ideally without added text or filters.
No. Thumbnail performance also depends on topic, title, audience and distribution. I can optimise visual clarity and appeal, not guarantee a metric.
Yes. That is the strongest approach for regular publishing and a recognisable system.
Send the title, topic and any assets you have. If there is no thumbnail system yet, I can propose a direction for the whole channel.
Send the next video and assets. We can start with one thumbnail or build a visual system for the channel.
